Part 1 (of 3) from the Unleash Conference
Last week the Catalyst Road Trip team ventured to Anderson, SC for a one day conference called Unleash, hosted by Perry Noble and the staff of NewSpring Church. “Unleash is designed to challenge, encourage, and motivate church leaders to take action to reach their communities for Christ.” Have you ever heard Perry Noble preach? Let’s just say that you will not be looking at your watch wondering when he is going to finish. As they say in some Christian circles, “He brought it!” And the worship was fantastic.
Read more to hear an interview with Mark Hunnicutt, a leader who is pioneering fresh vision in a church that is over 200 years old…how does he do it?!
We want to thank Perry Noble and Tony Morgan for inviting us to join them for Unleash…we were not there as exhibitors or promoters for Catalyst; we were there as friends of NewSpring Church, and we were received as such. You will hear from Perry Noble and Tony Morgan in coming posts (great insight from two front line leaders), but this morning we want to introduce you to Mark Hunnicutt, a pastor at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC (over 200 years old). Our good friend Jay Hardwick knows Mark well and asked Mark to share about how he casts innovative vision in a church that is over 200 years old and, arguably, steeped in tradition that can sometimes be resistant to change.
Jay has now become an honorary Vanagon Vagabond and his inspiring creativity seemed to blossom as he began the interview…let it be known that Jay has coined the term, “Vlog” or “V-Log” as the official term for video blogging. You heard it here first, from the Catalyst Road Trip!
Hmmm, right…
Jay Hardwick interviews Mark Hunnicutt:
