The Catalyst Team will be in Birminham, AL Monday, April 14 - Wednesday, April 16 for the 2008 ARC Conference (Church of the Highlands). We will have the Vanagon with us so if you’re in the area, come by and get a picture with us!

We have never been accused of being intelligent…which is why this road trip makes so much sense. If the Vanagon Vagabonds had been smart we would have traveled to Florida during the cold months and saved our trips up north for warmer months. Instead, we chose to travel north, with no heater, during times of paralyzing cold and stupid snow. Well, now we face a new challenge - Florida, in the spring, with no A/C! That’s right! Beginning next Tuesday, we are headed down I75 South towards Florida with the windows rolled down, our sleeves rolled up, and our flip flops on…The Catalyst Vanagon is taking on Sunshine State! Maybe we’ll lose a few pounds and remedy this pathetic pasty complexion…or maybe we’ll just sweat our tails off and keep smiling! Road Trip #5 to Florida kicks off next Tuesday…stay tuned!

The Vanagon was a little tired after our trip to Ohio so our Alabama trip has been delayed. Here is a map of where we are headed next week beginning Thursday February 21st. By clicking on the highlighted cities (in blue) you will see corresponding the dates for each city during Trip #4. From February 27th - March 2nd we will be in Vail and Keystone, CO enjoying some time on the slopes. A couple of us are flying back to Dallas where we will resume the road trip on March 3rd. This will be our longest trip to date…see you soon!!!

Updated maps will follow highlighting details of our trips to AL, TX, OK, AR, MO, VA, D.C., MD, PA, NY, FL, and more! Here is an initial snapshot of the next four months:

  • February ~ TN, KY, OH, AL, CO (flying), & TX
  • March ~ TX, OK, AR, MO, MS, KY, TN
  • April ~ VA, D.C., MD, PA, NY, FL
  • May ~ NC, SC, KY, TN, ???
The next detailed map will feature cities that we are planning to visit in Alabama during the week of February 13th-17th…stay tuned!

    Are you going to be in the Birmingham area? If so , let me know and I would be happy to take you out for a meal compliments of Undivided Ministries. I traveled some with What’s Up America, the 50 state tour that was sponsored by First Priority of America, and I know what it’s like to live on the road ! The least I can do is a good meal. :)

    I love the road map. It’s easier for me to follow your adventures and puts the travel in perspective. This with the pictures, blog and video sure helps to humanize and authenticate the experience. Thanks for the opportunity.

    How about some love for the NW? A summer roadtrip to WA, OR and ID. No better time and we have some Catalyst alumn’s up here. Love to introduce to some of the churches in the NW who have a 20’s and 30’s movement going

    Love your stuff… I just finished reading Unchristian and felt like David and Gabe must have heard my sermon series, Why We Christians Suck Sometimes that I did last year. The 4 weeks were dedicated to the very same things they spoke of in the book! Great stuff!

    We also did a God Loves Gays Rally to reach out to the Homosexual community… it went very well! God is doing some pretty cool stuff.
